Reggie St. Romain

Reggie St. Romain

Executive Director

Mr. St. Romain began his career working as a Youth Counselor at Clarinda Academy in 1994 and has served as the Academy’s Executive Director since 2011. From 2005 to 2011, Mr. St. Romain served at Mingus Mountain Academy in AZ, initially as Group Living Director and ultimately as Executive Director. Previously, Mr. St. Romain was with Woodward Academy in IA for six years, where he started as the Program Director of the Sex Offender Program and was later promoted to Group Living Director.


Mike Butt

Mike Butt

Admissions

Mike started his career at Clarinda Academy as a youth counselor in 1998. He worked his way up through the ranks as a staff trainer and recruiter, Students Services Director, Sequel Trainer, Group Living Director and in 2012 to his current position as Admissions Director. In his free time, Mike enjoys golfing, as well as coaching and watching his boys play baseball. Mike lives in Clarinda, IA with his wife, Amber, and boys, Caden and Jordan.


Luke Cox

Luke Cox

Education

Luke Cox has served as the Director of Education at Clarinda Academy since 2018. He coordinates school accreditation, curriculum implementation process, school professional development, vocational-internship programming, and evaluation of education staff. Luke also serves as Head Athletic Director for Clarinda Academy. He has been in education for 10 years as a teacher, athletic coach and principal. In 2008, Luke was named Missouri’s outstanding beginning teacher of the year. He holds a Master of Science Degree in K-12 Educational Leadership from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri. He also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in 9-12 Social Science Education from Northwest Missouri State University and is pursuing his Doctorate in Educational Administration. Luke enjoys spending time with his family, coaching basketball, playing golf, and eating buffalo wings.


Evan Wouters

Clinical Director

Evan Wouters has been working in the adolescent childcare field for over ten years and is dedicated to a trauma-sensitive approach through clinical management and therapeutic care. Evan began his career in crisis work, developing and implementing suicide prevention psychoeducation programs in the non-profit sector, and transitioned to the residential field in 2012. He has a bachelors degree in criminal justice and psychology, and a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University.


Cade Iverson

Cade Iverson

Student Services Director

Cade Iverson joined Clarinda Academy in 2015, initially serving as Group Living Director and now as Student Services Director. Previously, Cade was with Woodward Academy, where he served as a Youth Counselor, Group Leader, Behavioral Specialist and Athletic Director. Cade also spent time at NSI Academy as a Team Leader and Trainer. When Cade is not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Anne, and watching their four children play sports.


Paul Reiken

Paul Reiken

Staff Development

Paul Rieken started his career with Clarinda Academy in January of 1994. During his career with Clarinda Academy, Paul has served as an overnight Youth Counselor, A.M. Youth Counselor, A.M. and P.M. Group Leader, Team Leader, Group Living Director, Training/Recruiting/Activities Coordinator, Support Services Director, and now Director of Staff Development. He also serves on the Sequel Training Team. Previously, Paul worked as a Training Coordinator for a non-profit organization supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health issues; managed an assisted living facility; served as the Program Coordinator for an education agency program for students with behavior disorders; and worked as a facilitator and coach for an organization that provided development programs to individuals and groups. Paul has a bachelor’s degree in Human and Social Services Administration, a Master’s degree in Organizational Performance, and a passion for individual and team development processes. Paul is married to his wife Jennifer and has two daughters and one step-daughter. When he’s not at Clarinda, Paul enjoys spending time with family, reading, watching football, and playing drums.


Gordi Metezier

Gordi Metezier

Group Living

Gordi joined the Clarinda team January of 2016, serving as a Youth Counselor, Group Leader, Team Leader, and now the Group Living Director. As a student athlete at Northwest Missouri State University, Gordi interacted with youth within his community and church. In his free time, he loves to watch movies, read, fish, and run. Gordi lives in Maryville, MO with his wife and daughter.
